Sleep is nice but I'm still going

As I type this I have spent the best part of the last 31 hours, barring some 'sleep' on a plane. If you can call that sleep. So please forgive me if what I deliver here is a bit shit.

First to the flight. Now just for the record I flew Air New Zealand. All in all I thought they were very good, but they even went above my expectations, barring the often skippy entertainment unit which often caused quite the shuffle around for other passengers. Although when the safety briefing was on they seemed to work ok. The visual accompaniment is so ridiculous it's hilarious.I had to stop myself rolling on the floor laughing. The food - well it was plane food. Salmon, butter chicken... but yeah it was pretty plain (see what I did there? you'll get used to that).

One thing I didn't get was when we were close to San Fran (current destination), people who knew the sun was on their side of the plane opening their shades. I don't think these people learnt when they saw the person in front of them get blinded by the sunlight. It happened like clockwork. People are funny.

San Francisco itself seems quite a friendly and relaxed city. I would definitely like to be around here longer. It's my guess there's a lot of fit people in San Fran. Man there are some horrendous hills. That's what my calves are telling me and my mad photos.

Looks are deceiving.
But it was great to be able to traverse the city on foot. Now I'm not a big music man, but this little record store hidden away really impressed me.

Music store on Grant St
And I'm no architect, but I appreciated the designs of the houses on these hills, but I guess if you had the money to buy on these hills, why spare any expense on the house (in such a tight space)?

Yeah, I know a bit boring. You had to be here.
Anyway so me and my new-found mate Jesse, from Auckland who's going to be joining me on this week-long tour around the place, went on this walk and ended up at the much-vaunted Pier 39. EVERYONE was there. It was a great little place. If you couldn't find something you liked there (restaurants, 'candy' shops, souvenirs [if you're into those]), you weren't looking hard enough. After a wander, Jesse and I settled on the Hard Rock Cafe. We of course underestimated the size of the massive US meals and despite our hunger at the time, well lets say we might be skipping brekky tomorrow. I mean I had a salad and a starter and that did me. Maybe that's why people around here are so active - they've got to work off these huge serves so common around here. SO full...

A glimpse of the pier for you. Didn't want to spoil it.
Looking forward to heading out to seeing ol' Yosemite Sam at Yosemite National Park on Monday over here. Hopefully I bring back some cool pics.

Please let me know how I can be more insightful next time. Or maybe less informative. Just give me some (constructive) tips please. Even about the font, the pics. This is all new to me too.
